Stroke Rehabilitation Program
Commonly known as “The Golden Period”, the first 90 days immediately following a stroke is considered to be the most important window for rehabilitation, since it is when most of the neurological recovery takes place. Pine Residence offers a full range of stroke rehabilitation programs to provide effective treatments during the Golden Period, maximizing the chances of recovery. Additionally, personalized rehabilitation programs are designed for each resident in order to improve physical function, mobility, speech expression and self-care to help residents return to normal life.
Physiotherapy
Our team physiotherapists design individualized rehabilitation programs aimed at regaining control over motor functions, including electrotherapy, rehabilitation exercises, balance trainings for walking, sitting and standing and so on. After the completion of the program, our physiotherapists will suggest home exercises and recommend walkers and sport equipment to help residents return to normal life.
Occupational Therapy
To develop, recover and maintain motor abilities of stroke residents, daily life trainings, such as swallowing, eating and grooming, are provided to help residents relearn skills needed for normal life. In addition, we will advise on home modification and technical aids to increase safety and remove barriers at their homes.
Nutritional Therapy
The cause of stroke is closely related to diet. In order to improve the physical condition of the residents, the dietitian will access their eating habits and provide personal dietary guidance. With the concept of 3L1H balanced diet, we serve meals with low salt, low fat, low sugar and high fiber. Through the course of treatment, we help stroke residents establish good and healthy eating habits.
Speech Therapy
If stroke residents suffer in communication disorders, we can provide speech therapy to help residents regain lost abilities in speaking, listening, writing and comprehension.
Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture
In addition to Western medical treatments, we also provide acupuncture services for stroke residents, combining Chinese and Western medical treatments, to foster the rehabilitation progress.
